Free-Form technology enables the complete customisation of lenses for each wearer and there are many examples on the market today, all seeking to improve visual quality.
Our Elysium® series revolutionises the current concept of personalisation by incorporating technology that analyses light ray paths as they travel through the lens.
This final lens calculation also considers the wearer’s accommodative capacity to focus at varying distances, minimising oblique aberrations.
All Elysium® lens designs also benefit from the application of ‘Steady Methodology’. This patented technology provides the wearer with more stable and natural vision, dramatically reducing the ‘swim and sway’ effect caused by lateral image distortion.
All of the above ultimately creating a design that delivers a more comfortable visual experience, smoother transition between viewing areas and better vision through every point of the lens.
Comprehensive Addition Range (+0.75 to +4.50)
Precise and comfortable focusing for all working distances in any direction of gaze.
Advanced ray path calculation technique to give clearer vision.
Optional personalisation for tailored performance
Superior visual quality when using digital devices.
Higher image stability for reduced swim effect.
Improvement of peripheral visual acuity in the distance zone.
Inset optimization for accurate positioning of the near zone.
Elysium Drive GT Progressive is a unique customized lens. Its power distribution is specifically adapted for driving. Its night vision zone compensates for the difference in refractive error that occurs between day and night. It provides greater visual acuity and reduces eyestrain.
97% of wearers who have used Drive GT Progressive lenses have felt much more comfortable driving both during the day and at night.

With the advent of full back surface ‘free-form’ progressives, times have changed. The same semi-finished blank can now be used for a variety of different brand name lenses. They are also processed on the same machinery. SO, the only thing that really differentiates lenses now is the ‘maths’ involved in creating the design that goes on the back – how much better is the maths of a name brand lens going to be when you compare to all the other options on the market? There really is only so much you can do on the backside of a lens, since every manufacturer is bound by the same laws of physics.
When clear vision is required at desk level, prolonged use at very near distances.
Ideal wearer:
Presbyopes who work in a small space and spend a significant amount of time focusing on very near distances. For example, office workers who spend most of their time viewing monitors on a desk.

Ideal wearer:
Presbyopes who work in a room-sized space and spend a significant amount of time focusing at intermediate and near distances. For example, office workers who utilise monitors but have a need to view another person at a conversational distance.
4 Metre Usage guide
When clear vision is required in a room-sized space and extra viewing is needed at intermediate and near distances.
Ideal wearer:
Presbyopes who work in a larger space and spend time focusing on intermediate and near distances. For example, people who utilize monitors and have a need to view another person at a conversational distance and are mobile around their workspace.
Big enough to cope, small enough to care is a much-used phrase but it really does sum up the ethos of the Waterside business and we never lose sight of the fact that we are here to serve our customers.
